Who Spins the Roulette Wheel?

Roulette is a popular casino game that is played with a wheel containing 36 numbered pockets. The object of the game is to place bets on the number that will be pulled out of the wheel next.

The player who bets on the number that will be pulled out first, or “spin the wheel,” wins the game.

There are two types of roulette players: “bettors” and “house” players. Bettors are those who place their bets independently of the house, while house players are those who put up money with the hope of winning back their original investment plus any winnings from subsequent bets.

The wheel is spun by a croupier, who stands behind it and pulls the numbered roulette stick out from between two cushions. The player holding the betting slip shouts out the number they have bet on.

If that number is pulled out of the wheel, then the player has won their bet and receives their original stake back plus any winnings from subsequent bets. If any other number is pulled, then that player loses their bet and is given back their original stake only.
