Jackie Kennedy’s father, Joseph P. Kennedy, was known as “Blackjack” because he was a high-stakes gambler. In the early 1920s, Blackjack was a well-known figure in New York City’s underworld. He was involved in everything from prostitution to racketeering.
In 1928, Blackjack was arrested for armed robbery and served time in prison. While he was incarcerated, Kennedy’s wife Rosemary gave birth to their son John F. Kennedy. After his release, Blackjack resumed his criminal activities and soon became one of the most feared men in New York City.
In the late 1930s, Kennedy decided to break away from the underworld and start a new life. He moved his family to Boston and started a new career as a businessman. However, Blackjack continued to haunt Kennedy and his family.
In 1951, Kennedy’s son John was campaigning for office and Blackjack made an appearance at one of his rallies. The incident scared JFK and he decided to stay out of politics for the rest of his career.
However, Blackjack continued to follow JFK and his family. In 1960, JFK ran for president and Blackjack made an appearance at one of his rallies.
This time, the incident didn’t scare JFK and he decided to run for office himself. JFK defeated Blackjack in the election and became president of the United States.
