How Does Blackjack Surrender Work?

Blackjack is a casino game in which players try to beat the house by guessing the number of cards that will be drawn by the dealer. In order to win, a player must have a higher hand (total value of cards) than the dealer.

If the player is ahead, the player can either draw additional cards or cash out (lose all their money).

To win in blackjack, a player must make two basic decisions: whether to hit or stand. If the player hits, the player risks additional cards being drawn and may lose if their hand is not good enough.

If the player stands, the player risks being pushed over 21 and losing.

If the dealer drAWS two cards, the player has a choice: hit or stand. If the dealer drAWS three cards and the player hits, then the player would receive four more cards and could either hit again or stand.

If the player stands and another card is drawn, then that card would replace one of the previously drawn cards, so that if three cards were drawn and then an ace was revealed, then the player would now have two options: hit or stand.
The other option for three cards is to draw again and hope for better luck – this is called splitting hairs.
