What Are the Suits in Poker?

In poker, the suits represent different ranks in the game. The highest ranking suit is clubs, followed by hearts, spades, diamonds, and finally clubs again.

As in most card games, the rank of a card is important; for example, a two of clubs is better than a two of spades. The rank of a suit also matters; for example, a three of clubs is better than a two of hearts.

Some players use suits as an indicator for how to play the game. For example, if you are playing against someone who is known to play mostly with clubs, you might want to play more aggressively with cards that are high in club rank (like twos and threes).
