What Happened to Poker Room?

Since the legalization of online poker in the United States, there has been an increase in the number of poker rooms. At one point there were over 100 poker rooms available to American players.

However, since the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA), many of these poker rooms have closed their doors.

Poker rooms have closed for a variety of reasons. Some have decided to stop offering poker due to changes in the law, while others have closed because they could not find a willing partner to continue operating them.

Some poker rooms have even gone out of business due to fraud or other criminal activity.

The number of poker rooms has continued to decline since the UIGEA was passed, and it is likely that the majority of these poker rooms will eventually close their doors. In spite of this, there are still many legitimate poker rooms available to American players.
