An illuminated spinning wheel with 36 numbered slots, from which balls are dropped by a dealer to determine a winning number. The wheel’s rim is divided into red and black categories. The dealer positions the roulette ball at one of the 36 slots and the croupier then drops the ball into one of the slots. The ball is stopped by a metal post that extends from one side of the wheel to the other, just before it falls into a hole in the center. If the ball falls into any of the black slots, it is counted as a “black number.
” If it falls into any of the red slots, it is counted as a “red number.” If it falls between two numbers (e.g., between 21 and 22), it is counted as a “number.” When all 36 numbers have been played, counting starts over at 1 with black numbers on the left side and red numbers on the right side.
