What Are Blackjack Card Values?

If you are new to blackjack, or if you are a seasoned player who wants to improve your odds of winning by understanding the card values, read on.

In blackjack, each card has a numeric value. The Ace is worth 1, the Two is worth 2, the Three is worth 3, and so on up to the Ten, which is worth 10.

There are two basic ways to win in blackjack: hitting a specific card value (e.g., getting an Ace) or splitting (getting two cards of the same value).

In order to hit a specific card value, you need to know the card’s numerical value.

To improve your odds of winning, it’s important to understand how each card affects your chances of winning. For example, if you’re playing with a Five-card hand (i.e., you’re not holding any Aces), an Ace can help you win if it’s combined with another good card (e.g., a Two or a Three).

However, if you’re playing with a Four-card hand (i.e., you have at least one Ace), an Ace isn’t as valuable because it’s less likely that another good card will be combined with it.
