Why Don’t I Have Appointment Slots in Google Calendar?

With so many people using Google Calendar, it would seem natural to have appointment slots for each individual. However, this feature is not available in Google Calendar. There are several reasons why this might be the case. One reason is that Google Calendar is a communal calendar, which means that it is intended for sharing with other people in your organization or with friends.

Having individual appointment slots would interfere with this purpose. Additionally, having separate slots for each person would create a lot of extra work for Google Calendar administrators. It would be much easier to simply have one slot for each person in the calendar and let users add appointments by dragging and dropping them into the slot.
